Learn to Skate Policies
Helmet Policy - Helmets are mandatory for our Snowplow Sam levels and Basic 1. All other levels are strongly encouraged to wear a helmet. Snow pants and mittens/gloves are highly recommended for all our new participants.
Learn to Skate USA Membership - Skaters must be registered with Learn to Skate USA prior to registering for classes. This is a yearly membership(costs $18.50), that is in addition to our semester fees. The LTSUSA membership is good from 7/1 - 6/30. You can find this membership at Learn to Skate USA
Make Up Policy - The Skating Club of CNY only runs Learn to Skate lessons once a week so there is no opportunity to schedule a makeup lesson. There will be no refunds given if a skater misses a Learn to Skate lesson. If the skating club has to cancel class due to problems with the ice, weather, or any other issue that may arise, we will schedule a makeup lesson for the day(s) missed.
Class Time Change - All group lesson times are subject to change depending on number of registrations.
General Policies
Credit Card Processing Fee - All credit card payments will incur a 3% processing fee.
Credit Card Processing Fee for People Paying with Cash/Check - Members that wish to pay by cash or check, may pay at the Learn to Skate desk or club desk at the time of your first class or drop in. The credit card processing fee will be removed at the time of in person payment.
Image Use - The following policy will be signed once a season: I grant to Skating Club of Central New York, permission to take photographs of all members of my family in connection with the 2024-2025 skating season. I authorize Skating Club of Central New York to use any photograph of me or my family, with or without my name, and for any lawful purpose, including publicity, illustration, advertising, social media, and web content.
